The Etsy integration is coming. Until then, here's how to get from a day of Etsy orders to packed magnets.

    Morning: download the day's photos

    Open each new Etsy order and download the photos the buyer sent. Save them in a folder named with the order date.

    Drop the photos into Print Studio

    Open studio.vixie.app. There's no signup, and the photos stay on your device. Drag them onto the sheet and Print Studio lays them out on your Letter, A4, or 13×19 paper. The free version does up to three sheets at a time.

    Crop, add text, and export

    Click a magnet to move its crop. Add a name or date on the photo, or your shop handle around the edge, if the buyer asked for it. Export a print-ready PDF.

    Print, press, pack, and ship

    Print the sheet, cut along the guides, and press each magnet. Pack them in a rigid mailer with a thank-you card and buy the shipping label through Etsy.

Etsy magnet seller FAQ

Does Vixie connect to Etsy directly?+
Not yet. The Etsy integration is on the way, and you can join the list at vixie.app/etsy. Shopify and Wix are live today, so if you also sell on either, those orders come into Vixie on their own. For Etsy orders, buyers send their photos through Etsy, you drop them into Vixie's free Print Studio, export the print-ready sheet, and press.
How do I handle photo uploads from Etsy customers?+
Etsy's personalization settings include a File upload field. Add it to a listing and buyers can attach up to 10 photos when they order. If your listings don't have it yet, ask buyers to send their photos in Etsy Messages. Then drop the photos into the free Print Studio, crop, and export.
What size magnets should I sell on Etsy?+
Vixie starts you with 2.5" square Photo Magnets, and Puzzle Magnets made from the same 2.5" squares, so one press covers both. Whatever size you pick, use the same one across your listings so you only need one press and one set of supplies.
How do I price magnets on Etsy?+
Start from Vixie's starting prices: $6 for one magnet, $17 for a 3-pack, $32 for a 6-pack, and $15 to $28 for a puzzle. Then add Etsy's fees: a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item and its shipping, and a payment processing fee that depends on your country. Should I sell on Etsy or my own Shopify store?+
Etsy brings buyers to you and charges fees on every sale. Your own Shopify store costs a monthly plan and you bring your own buyers, but the store and the customer list are yours. You don't have to pick one. Vixie already connects to Shopify, so those orders come into Vixie on their own.
How fast do I need to ship?+
You set your own processing time on each Etsy listing, and buyers see a ship-by date from it at checkout. Pick a time you can keep in your busiest week, then beat it when you can.
Can I run an Etsy magnet shop and event vendor business at the same time?+
Yes. Event orders come into your Print Queue from the QR code. Until the Etsy integration arrives, you lay out Etsy orders in Print Studio. Same printer, same press, same supplies.
