What is a puzzle magnet?+
One photo printed across a grid of square magnets. Put the pieces together and you see the whole photo. Pull them apart and each one is its own fridge magnet. Vixie's Puzzle Magnets start with three grids: 2×3 (6 pieces), 3×3 (9 pieces), and 3×4 (12 pieces). Each piece is a 2.5" square.
How is a puzzle magnet different from a regular photo magnet?+
A photo magnet is one photo on one magnet. A puzzle magnet is one photo split across several magnets in a grid. The pieces are the same 2.5" squares as your photo magnets, so they use the same press and supplies.
Do I need a special printer for puzzle magnets?+
No. Puzzle pieces print on the same paper and printer as your photo magnets.
What grid sizes does Vixie support out of the box?+
Puzzle Magnets start with three grids of 2.5" pieces: 2×3 (6 pieces, $15), 3×3 (9 pieces, $22), and 3×4 (12 pieces, $28). To sell another grid, type it in under the presets in Edit Product and press Add. It works as long as the puzzle fits on your paper.
Can my customers order puzzle magnets the same way as photo magnets?+
Yes. Customers scan your QR code, pick a photo, choose a puzzle or photo magnets, and pay, all on their phone. Your Print Queue shows which orders are puzzles, and the print sheet lays out every piece in its grid.
What's the default puzzle magnet pricing?+
A new Vixie account starts at $15 for a 2×3 (6 pieces), $22 for a 3×3 (9 pieces), and $28 for a 3×4 (12 pieces). Change any price in Edit Product.
What supplies do puzzle magnets use?+
The same as your square photo magnets. Each piece is a 2.5" square, so it takes a 2.5" square press and that press's shells, clear film, and magnet backs. The magnet press buyer's guide compares presses and what each magnet costs you.
My puzzle pieces show gaps when I put them together. How do I close them?+
Tweak the Puzzle Bleed value in Print Studio's Edit Measurements panel. Increase it to add more image overlap and cover gaps. Decrease it if the seams look doubled, crowded, or too tight. Save when the seams look flush. Vixie remembers the value for every future puzzle at that size.
